Heavy rain causes flooding near California airport

Heavy rains submerged streets around Burbank Airport near Los Angeles, as the National Weather Service warned of a ‘cold and dangerous winter storm’ that would last through Saturday in California. The storms have left nearly one million homes and businesses without power from coast to coast, closed major roads, caused pileups and snarled up air travel.
