A mass brawl has erupted in the South African parliament during the South African president's recent State of the Nation Address, as opposition parties have accused President Ramaphosa of using his Address as an attempt to consolidate his power. At the chaotic start to the speech, the president outlined his administration's plan to address the country's most pressing challenges, declaring a 'state of disaster' because of a crippling energy crisis.
