Su-27 pilots decorated after clash with U.S. drone
The two pilots involved in a confrontation with an American drone over the Black Sea earlier this month have been awarded Orders of Courage by Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu. On March 14, an American MQ-9 drone was detected as it was heading in the direction of the Russian border. The pilots were dispatched to investigate, and managed to take the drone out of action by sharp maneuvering alone, averting a potentially more serious incident. ‘Of course, I’m very proud to receive such a high recognition of my service, but I believe this honor is equally, if not more, due to all the servicemen who provided support of our mission,’ said one of the pilots on receiving the honor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
